Ambode Welcomes France President Macron to the Shrine in Lagos
The French President, Emmanuel Macron visits Nigeria, meets President Muhammadu Buhari in the state house before moving down to Lagos to visit Fela Shrine in Ikeja.
In Abuja, the 39year old President of France discussed and signed some agreements with his Nigeria counterpart. President Muhammadu Buhari said he is pleases to welcome the French President.
“Pleased to welcome President @EmmanuelMacron to the State House today. Our discussions focused on security, especially regarding G5S and stabilizing the Sahel; economic issues; and the Inter Basin Water Transfer for Lake Chad. Our two countries also signed a number of Agreements.”
He was also welcomed in Lagos by the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and other dignitaries.
“Welcome to Lagos, President Emmanuel Macron.”
“Lagos looks forward to being an integral part of the 2020 African Cultural Season in Paris as envisioned by President Macron.” Ambode added.
The French President recognise the importance of the Shrine and Africa culture.
“The Shrine is an iconic cultural hub. And I say with a lot of humility that I recognize the importance of African culture.”
He also said that people in France love Fela, Demo and Seun Kuti.
