FG Launches 1000 Security Force to Combat Bandits Terrorizing Zamfara
The federal government is taking a huge step in curbing violence, killings and terrorism in Zamfara State by deploying enormous security personnel to one of the state having security challenges in the country.
“The Federal Government has assembled 1000-strong military force, compromising the army, air force, police and the civil defence to launch fierce attacks on the bandits terrorising the villages and towns of Zamfara State.”
This information is according to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on media and publicity, Garba Sheu.
The presidential spokesman warns the media to thread softly on reporting issues dealing with these bandits in order not to make them feel important.
“The media should under no circumstances make the bandits or terrorists feel like super stars because doing so could hurt all of us.” He said.
“Terrorists seek to achieve maximum publicity and they do so by launching large scale attacks on soft targets and the media must resist every attempt to play into their hands unwittingly.” He added.
As at the time of this report, there is not a message yet from the Army or any other security agencies regarding this development.
