FIFA World Cup Quarter Final Fixture and Prediction
After the conclusion of the very interesting and highly competitive round of 16, 8 teams returned to their country for losing their games while the other 8 progress to the next stage.
Also, among the last 8, 4 teams will make it to the semi final, the other 4 will lose out of the competition. Below is the fixture, analysis and predictions of possible outcomes of the matches.
Uruguay vs France on Friday, July 6, 3pm.
Uruguay having sent Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal parking has suddenly became a threat to every team left in Russia. Likewise, France treatment of Messi and his Argentina teammates in arguably the best game so far in this competition added a lot to their favourite status. This will be a tough game by all standard.
This game can go either way.
Brazil vs Belgium on Friday, July 6, 7pm.
This is the most anticipated game in the quarters and will be the most watched among them. It is a battle of two favourites. One from Europe, the other from South America, both star-studded. Before the start of the world cup, many predicted to see both team in the final. That tells you how tough this pairing is.
Both teams have the chance to progress possibly by penalty shootout.
Sweden vs England on Saturday July 7, 3pm.
Following England’s struggle to beat Colombia with penalty shootout in the previous round, many could no longer put their resources behind them against the consistent Swedish team. We hope to have a scintillating performance in this fixture if both team improve their play.
England may go through, though not easily as thought.
Russia vs Croatia on Saturday July 7, 7pm.
Record have it that the host country, Russia, has never get to this stage in history. Having been here this time, as the host, it is a huge chance to go further to further rewrite history.
Croatia is one of the surprises in Russia. They came top in a group that consists Argentina and Nigeria. It seems luck and elegance of their goalkeeper is working for them because spectators thought they won’t make it again after missing a golden penalty in the last minute of their last game against Poland, but Subasic became a hero.
However, I am giving this match to Russia.
