Gov. Lalong, Buhari Honour Imam Who Shields 300 Christians from Massacre
Imam Abdullahi Abubakar has been recognised and honour by Plateau State governor, Solomon Lalong.
He will also get a presidential handshake when President Muhammadu Buhari returns from ECOWAS meeting in Lome, Togo.
The 83 years old Muslim Cleric admit vulnerable Christians into his home and mosque when they were running for their dear lives in order not to be massacred by some allegedly Muslim bandits in Plateau in the recent killings that claimed more than 200 lives.
Abdullahi said “…I hid the men in the mosque, I hid the women in my own house, I lied to the gang that everyone in the mosque were Muslims”.
He risked his and his family lives by lying to the bandits, displaying humanity of the highest order to save the lives of exactly 262 people (approx 300).
Many people have hereby annointed him for a national award for his bravery and honesty with God and humanity.
