Sen. Ben Murray-Bruce Recommends Voting by Text Message in Nigeria
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce today recommends that Nigeria should start voting by sms.
He said this as a solution to issues of vote selling and buying experienced in the just concluded governorship election in Ekiti State, South West Nigeria.
This common sense by the common sense Senator was backed up by the fact that all adults in Nigeria have mobile lines duly registered by the NCC, an agency INEC can bank on.
“There are 100 million phone lines in Nigeria. Almost every Nigerian adult has a phone. All mobile lines are registered by the NCC, which captures names personal details, photos and finger prints of registered owners. Why can’t we vote by text? It will end Ekiti style vote buying.” He said.
Do you agree with his contribution to finding lasting solution to our electioneering process in the country?
