UN Report Says Nigeria Paid Ransom To Get Dapchi Girls Released

The United Nations has uncovered that the Nigerian government through the Information Minister Lai Mohammed lied that they didn’t pay any payoff to free scores of female student grabbed by the Boko Haram from their school in Dapchi .

It would be reviewed that Nigeria daily times revealed that Over 100 young ladies were grabbed from the Dapchi school by a Boko Haram group in February this year with around 105 of them later discharged by the fear mongers.

One of them, Leah Sharibu, who allegedly declined to impugn her Christian confidence, is still with the abductors.

Following the arrival of the young ladies, about multi month after they were abducted, Mr Mohammed told columnists that it was not genuine payoff was paid for their discharge.

”It isn’t valid that we paid payment for the arrival of the Dapchi young ladies, nor was there a detainee swap to anchor their discharge,” “What happened was that the kidnapping itself was a break of the truce talks between the guerillas and the legislature; henceforth it turned into an ethical weight on the abductors. Any report that we paid payment or occupied with detainee swap is false.”

UN Report Says Nigerian Government Paid Huge Ransom To Free Dapchi Girls Earlier This Year

The report as of late submitted to the UN Security Council on Boko Haram and related fear based oppressor associations, said such payment and the power of money economy was giving oxygen to the revolt around the Lake Chad area.

The UN report is titled “22nd Report of the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team”, identified with Resolution 2368 (2017) in regards to “Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant – ISIL – (Da’esh), Al-Qaida and related people and elements.”

“In Nigeria, 111 students from the town of Dapchi were seized on 18 February 2018 and discharged by ISWAP on 21 March 2018 in return for an extensive payment installment,” the report expressed.

The UN report nullifies the Nigerian government’s position and that of the military in the on-going battle against Boko Haram terorists.
