FG Sacks DSS Boss Daura Over NASS Blockade
The Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo was disappointed and condemns the drama orchestrated by the Department of State Security Service (DSS) in the National Assembly earlier today.
Fully armed masked men of the DSS staged a blockade preventing lawmakers (mainly oppositions) and civil servants from gaining access to the assembly complex saying it is an order from above.
It was so embarrassing and a threat to democracy. It gained wide international awareness in a very short time via social media.
Nobody in The presidency reacted to The situation until The Acting President made an axing statement. He immediately relieve Director General of DSS, Mr Lawal Daura.
“The unauthorized takeover of the NASS complex today is a gross violation of the rule of law and all acceptable notions of law and order. Persons within the law enforcement apparatus who participated in this travesty will be identified and subjected to disciplinary action.” Osinbajo lamented.
“As a start, I have directed that the appointment of the DG of the DSS, Mr. Lawal Daura be terminated. He has been directed to hand over to the most Senior Officer in the State Security Service.” The Acting President added.
Matthew Seiyefa named the Acting Director of the DSS
