INEC Set To Conduct Bye Election Into Lokoja-Koton-Karfe Federal Constituency

As Kogi State plans for its bye decision, slated for August 11, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor James Apam, has communicated stress over the tenacious shrewdness of vote buying.

Apam who talked today in Lokoja on the pending Kogi bye-decision communicated fear over a rehash of the Ekiti State governorship race where voters were professedly instigated with cash before voting.

Instructions the push on the planning for the bye-decision into the Lokoja-Koton-Karfe Federal Constituency, Apam said there was close to nothing or nothing the commission could do to counteract individuals who have made up their minds to offer their votes.

“How would you avoid somebody who brought a camera into the voting work space to snap the party he or she had voted in favor of and later showed it to the gathering and get paid?”

Teacher Apam said it was the obligation of different political gatherings to build their edification battles and instruction of voters not to offer their votes.

On the bye-race booked for Saturday, the chief said that they have gotten the affirmation from the security offices that both the staff and the materials for the race would be secure.
