1. 2019: Moghalu emerges YPP presidential candidate
Moghalu, who was a former UN officer, emerged through delegates’ election at the party’s first National Convention and Presidential Primaries on Saturday in Abuja.
Moghalu scored 243 votes out of 253 accredited delegates, after his only opponent, Mr Donald Igwegbu, stepped down for him.
Igwegbu, while announcing his decision to step down, said he took the decision not because he was not qualified to contest in 2019 but because Moghalu shared the same vision with him.

2. Why APC will defeat PDP in 2019 – Lai Mohammed
Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Minister for Information and Culture, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) would win the 2019 general elections as there is no viable opposition to the party.
The minister stated this while fielding questions from newsmen in Benin on Saturday where he chaired the wedding of the son of Edo Commissioner for Budget and Economy Planning, Hajia Mariam Abubakar.
3. Presidency reacts to corruption allegation against Buhari’s chief of staff, Kyari
The Presidency has condemned the allegation that President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, collected a N29 million bribe for the awarding of a contract.
A statement on Saturday by presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, stated that Kyari did not have any private meetings with the person making those allegations.
He said with crucial elections ahead, some politicians and their media agents appear to be working together to pile pressure on the Buhari administration by wielding non-existent scandals against it.
4. 2019: You reacted angrily when I warned against Buhari in 2015 – Fayose tells Kwankwaso
The Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has reminded a presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, platform, Rabiu Kwankwaso, that he (Kwankwaso) was angry when he (Fayose) stated that Buhari was not capable of leading Nigeria in 2015.
Fayose said he has been vindicated about the warning on Buhari, adding that he was thankful to God that Kwankwaso was now a born again.
According to his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, on Saturday, the outgoing Governor said this in Ado Ekiti when the former governor of Kano State met with the state delegates, to solicit their support for his presidential ambition.
