The Director General of Ademola Adeleke Campaign company, Chief Lere Oyewunmi, has described the invitation through the police, requesting its principal to appear earlier than it as an act of intimidation.
He, but, counseled President Muhammadu Buhari for reversing the order.
NIGERIA DAILY TIMES reviews that the Nigeria Police had summoned Adeleke, for alleged exam malpractice and criminal conspiracy just few days to the governorship election.
However, President Buhari ordered that Adeleke have to no longer be invited till after Saturday’s election.
Oyewunmi stated such action, if allowed to fester become able to heating up the polity unnecessarily, adding that the directive of the president has doused anxiety.
He alleged the was APC being jittery over an impeding defeat within the September 22 governorship election in Osun State, for this reason the antics of intimidation and victimisation.
“We are taken aback by the eleventh hour invitation by the police to our candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke on very flimsy and unfounded issue.
“It is obviously clear that the ruling APC is so desperate to intimidate and harass our flag bearer because of the fear of loosing election.
“I want to say categorically clear that we can not be intimidated in any way, we are undaunted and focused, no amount of intimidation and victimisation could deter us from winning the Saturday poll.
“We commend President Muhammadu Buhari for the timely intervention to douse the tensed political atmosphere; that directive has really prevented unnecessary political tension.”
