Osun rerun: Finally, Omisore decides who he will support

Less than 24 hours to Osun State Governorship election rerun, the candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Iyiola Omisore, has advised his supporters to vote for any PDP that believes within the time table of his  .

NIGERIA DAILY TIMES reported how the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, led some PDP chieftains to Mr. Omisore’s house in Ife on Monday to canvass for his assist.

On Tuesday, the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, also led some of his party chieftains to Mr. Omisore to are seeking the latter’s aid.

However, Mr. Omisore on Wednesday in a declaration signed with the aid of his media aide, Jide Fakorede, requested his supporters to aid any candidate of their desire.

“Osun nation has continually been a stellar instance of democracy wherein the human beings have always and freely expressed their franchise to determine who governs them. This should remain so. “My alliance is with the humans of Osun kingdom regardless of the political   party they belong. I need my humans to be handled with the glory they deserve. Mr Omisore’s stance seems to clarify claims by way of leaders of each PDP and APC that they’ve secured the ex-senator’s assist.

Mr Omisore whose   party, SDP, came 1/3 inside the governorship election, stands no chance of being elected governor after Thursday’s supplementary ballot .

In the inconclusive election, Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) scored 254,698 votes to beat his All Progressives Congress (APC) rival, Gboyega Oyetola, who polled 254, 345 votes. Mr Omisore, who hails from Ife Central local government, polled 128,049 votes to occupy the 0.33 vicinity.

The supplementary election became declared on Sunday after the electoral fee, INEC, declared the governorship election inconclusive. INEC said the margin among the 2 leading events, PDP and APC, is much less than the wide variety of cancelled votes (three,498) in the seven polling gadgets.

By Wednesday morning, a spokesperson for the Information ministry, Joseph Mutah, sent a message to journalists that Mr Omisore on the assembly agreed to work with the governing party.
