2019: Lamido’s Son Mustapha Won Jigawa PDP Senatorial Ticket

Son of ex-governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, become on Tuesday affirmed a senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mustapha clinched the PDP ticket for Jigawa Central senatorial district unchallenged.

Head of the election committee, Nasiru Barau, saying the results stated that while 500 delegates were permitted, Mustapha have been given 488 votes as 12 votes had been invalid.

In his reputation speech, Mustapha advocated the party delegates for the agree with they bestowed on him and promised a accountable example if elected senator.

Also, senatorial aspirant, Ubale Shitu, a serving senator clinched the PDP price fee price ticket for Jigawa North-east senatorial district whilst former Speaker for Jigawa State House of Assembly, Adamu Sarawa, withdrew from the race.

Mr Sarawa introduced his selection of withdrawal from the competition at the venue of the election. He introduced his withdrawal while voting changed into about to start.

In the election, 829 votes were legal, Shitu had been given 821 votes on the same time as eight votes have been invalid.
