The renewed communal conflict in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State has allegedly claimed the existence of a farmer and homes worth numerous thousands of naira destroyed.

The conflict, reported with Nigeria Daily Times findings befell on Thursday among the people of Ebom and Usumutong in Abi.

It turned into accumulated that the victim, Obeten Ube, a farmer was attacked in his farm on Thursday and whisked away to unknown vacation spot through armed guys from Usumutong

“Another male farmer who was in his farm and not aware of what become happening was also surrounded via the armed guys, beaten and taken away.

“What we are hearing is that the man was tortured earlier than he was sooner or later taken away and we’ve got no longer heard from him till now.

“We don’t understand if he is dead or alive. The information came to us around 9am this morning.

“We don’t have any problem but the group has been treating us badly. If you’re in Cross River State, in 2009 you might have heard what came about, they abducted two of our people, nonetheless we refuse to combat because we’re praying for peace in our network.
