PDP Submits Bukola Saraki Name to INEC as a Senatorial Candidate

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party submitted the name of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki to INEC as a senatorial candidate.

The name of the Senate President was among names submitted by the party on Thursday to the electoral commission in Abuja.

He was listed to vie for the Senate position in Kwara Central Senatorial District after coming third in the party’s presidential primaries held in Port Harcourt that confirmed Atiku Abubakar as the flagbearer.

However, the senatorial primaries was held before the presidential primaries but the party did not make any announcement in regard to the district in question baring in mind that the Senate President might lose the primaries which he did.

Also, it is not clear if the party’s national leader, Saraki, paid for the senatorial nomination form knowing fully well that he did for the presidential nomination form. What is clear is that his name was said to be used to replace a particular ‘Ope’ name for final submission to INEC.

Latest Nigeria news’s plan is that Bukola Saraki will remain the Senate President if the party and Atiku Abubakar won the presidential seat in 2019.
