Rangers is Aiteo Cup Champions after an Unbelievable Comeback against Kano Pillars

Rangers International Football Club of Enugu emerges champions of Aiteo Cup 2018 following an unbelievable comeback against Kano Pillars Football Club.

The game started with so much heat as Rabiu Ali put Kano Pillars up in the 5th minute.

Not long after, Alhassan Ibrahim scored directly from the corner kick spot to make it 2 nil in the 20th minute of the final.

Nwagu Nymar make it 3 for Pillars with a cool strike before the end of the first half. The third goal exposed Keeper Femi Thomas inefficiency, he was surprisingly replaced with Nana Bonsu by Coach Gbenga Ogunbote.

The sai masu gida was up by 3goals to nil at half time.

Rangers FC kept playing woefully at the early minutes of the second half that no one would expect a comeback. Unfortunately, Kano Pillars lost both centre back to injury that forced them out of the game, this gave their opponent a good chance.

Rangers started pressing until a long range strike goal was scored in the 76th minutes by a substitute, Kingsley Itoye.

On the stroke of 81st minutes, Chidera Eze pushed Rangers closer to a comeback with a low strike also from long range. The atmosphere of the stadium changed immediately after this goal, the fans returned to life.

The stadium went agog when Ajani Ibrahim nodded home from a close range in the 92nd minutes, he completed the unbelievable comeback that has not happened before in the history of the competition. The game was brought to an end after a short while.

It ended Rangers Int’l FC 3 Kano Pillars 3. What a game! Straight to penalty kick.

The Aiteo Cup 2018 final was decided by a penalty kick. The captain of Kano Pillars, Rabiu Ali open the kick with a miss, he fired wide. Another of his team mates also saw his kick parried by Nana Bonsu, while Rangers scored all four.

Penalty kick ended Rangers FC 4 Kano Pillars FC 2.

The runner up was awarded a 10million naira cheque while the winner went home with 25million naira and the trophy.
