Saraki, Murray-Bruce, Melaye Sue IG of Police, Demand N500m Damages
Following the confrontation staged by men of the Nigeria Police Force against a peaceful protest to INEC office by leaders of the PDP which include Sen. Ben Murray- Bruce, Sen. Dino Melaye, and the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki.
The demonstration was staged in protest to the outcome of the just concluded governorship election in Osun State which was believed to be rigged by the ruling party.
After the brawl, the Police handpicked the three senators and invited them for investigation for violence conduct and public disturbance.
However, the trio decided to approach the court of law to seek redress instead of bowing to the invite.
The applicants made almost ten declarations which include a 500million naira libel for harassment, incessant threat and unnecessary intimidation.
They also asked the court of law to restrain the Police from any attempt to arrest and detain them in connection with their lawful demonstration .
