FG Flagged-Off the Reconstruction of Roads to Ease Apapa Gridlock
The Federal Government of Nigeria has Flagged-Off the reconstruction of the Apapa-Oshodi-Oworonshoki-Ojota expressway in Lagos today.
The Flagged-Off was done by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola who was the former governor of Lagos State.
The executive governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode is happy with the move of the federal government to reconstruct these significant roads. He said the roads will provide a lasting solution to the Apapa gridlock which has been a major challenge to the state, road users and Nigeria in general, over a long period of time.
“The reconstruction of the Apapa-Oshodi-Oworonshoki-Ojota expressway was flagged off today by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola.
We thank President Muhammadu Buhari for recognising the importance of these roads. This will bring about reduction in road accidents, reduction in the cost of vehicle maintenance, provide a lasting solution to the Apapa gridlock, among others.”
