  1. The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has lamented what it described as “the poor handling” of the hijab crisis in the University of Ibadan International School, UIS.

MURIC frowned at the poor handling of the crisis by the school principal, Mrs. Phebean Olowe.

  1. Ten students of Ugborikoko Secondary School in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State have been hospitalized after men of the Nigeria Police Force, allegedly shot teargas into the school in a bid to disperse some hoodlums around the school premises.

Report said that the students were rushed to the emergency ward Unit of Capitol Hill Hospital along Airport road after the incident.

  1. The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has suspended three lawmakers for allegedly spearheading the campaign to change the leadership of the Anambra State House of Assembly.

The Chairman of the party in Anambra, Chief Norbert Obi, made the announcement at a news conference in Awka on Thursday said those suspended included: Mr Ikem Uzoezie, Mr Harford Osekke and Mr Victor Okoye, representing, Aguata 1, Awka South 2 and Anambra West State Constituencies, respectively.

  1. The crisis rocking the University of Ibadan International School over the use of Hijab by female Muslim students took another dimension Thursday morning when the school management barred some Hijab-wearing students of the school from entering the premises of the school.

The school management, it was gathered shut the gate of the school against the female Muslim students who wore the Hijab to the school.

  1. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday arrested 34 suspected internet fraudsters at 21, Sawmill Road Awa-Ijebu, Ogun State.

The suspects, mostly between 19 and 37 years, include: 23 students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, out of which nine were ladies who allegedly claimed to be girlfriends and or neighbours of some of the suspects.

  1. The Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have agreed to resume talks next week to resolve the ongoing strike by university teachers.

Dr Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, told newsmen at the end of a closed-door meeting with the union in Abuja on Thursday that the talks had been fruitful.

  1. Nine members of the Ondo State House of Assembly out of the 26 lawmakers in the state have approved the bill for the re-ordered budget of over N14 billion sent to the house by the state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

At the plenary, which was presided over by the embattled speaker of the House, David Oleyelogun, the House also dissolved the standing committees of the House and subsequently appointed three new principal officers.

  1. The former Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, has explained why he dumped his presidential ambition for Ondo Central Senatorial District race.

Mimiko said the decision was in the interest of his people, state and the country.

  1. A Federal High Court sitting in Uyo has sacked a lawmaker in Akwa Ibom State, Idongiset Ituen, who recently dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, Latest Nigeria news, for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Ituen represents Itu State Constituency in the state House of Assembly.

  1. Tunde Akinsanmi, lead vocalist of popular music group, Styl Plus, has officially dumped the band to pursue a solo career in music.

Tunde, who disclosed that he was now signed onto PEC records in solo capacity, said he no longer wished to be known on stage as Tunde Styl Plus, but Tunde T Dot.
