Super Falcons Emerged African Champions for the 9th Time after Beating South Africa

The Nigeria women national team, Super Falcons has emerged as AWCON champion again for the 9th time in history.

It took the defending champion more than 120minutes to get the job done via penalties.

The game was a close one, so tight for both teams probably because South Africa has beaten Nigeria in their first game of this African Women Championship in Ghana. As a result, the Bayana Bayana has grown in confidence while on the other hand the Super Falcons does not want to be beaten twice in the same tournament.

ARE WE ALL AFRICANS?

Nigeria had a golden chance to nip it on the 75th minute, but Asisat Oshoala loss the penalty kick.

Also, South Africa would have stole the trophy on the 85th minute, thanks to the defender who cleared out the ball.

At the end of 120 minutes, Nigeria beat South Africa via penalties to enhance their dominant record in the continent. Both team will represent Africa at the world cup next year in France.
