Buhari is not Transparent, His Government Steals with Subsidy Scam – Saraki
The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki said that the Muhammadu Buhari led federal government is not transparent with Subsidy. He said the government is stealing money through subsidy scam.
Saraki who is the DG, PDP Campaign Organisation made this statement among others in the PDP rally in Niger State yesterday. He said Nigerians deserve a better Nigeria. He stressed on the fact that the current administration has failed on security, job creation, and fight against corruption which he said is the vision of the PDP. He said:
Earlier today at the #PDPNigerRally, I restated the stand of the campaign organization to focus on our vision for a #BetterNigeria, which includes: security of lives and property; job creation; and fighting corruption. This administration has failed on all three of these points.
When the APC came into power in 2015, insecurity in the North was limited to only the North-east.
Today, all the 3 zones in the north have insecurity challenges. The PDP will make Nigeria safe again.
The APC promised to create 3 million jobs annually, however, today the reverse is the case as over ten million of our people have lost their jobs. They promised to fight corruption, but today, there is more corruption in the nation than before 2015. We deserve a #BetterNigeria.
For example: we criticized the Jonathan Administration for claiming that Nigerians consume 30m litres of petrol a day. We argued that Nigerians could not possibly consume more than 25m litres daily and that the claim was simply for the payment of subsidy on inflated figures.
Yet, today, the NNPC under Buhari claims that Nigerians are consuming 50m litres daily. Furthermore, they continue to pay these subsidies for fuel without appropriation by the legislature — hiding these payments under the name “cost recovery.” Nigerians demand transparency!
It is only in the 2019 budget proposal that the subsidy has now been included. These leakages from government revenue generating agencies has created a situation where we are not able to fund the budget effectively and we inevitably continue to borrow. We demand a #BetterNigeria!
