Buhari Suspends Onnoghen Swears in Tanko Muhammed as Acting CJN
President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended the embattled Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen and immediately swears in Tanko Muhammed as Acting CJN.
Justice Tanko Muhammed hails from Bauchi State and he is the most senior judge of the Supreme Court after Justice Onnoghen.
The President says that the law is clear that nobody is above the law.
Itse Sagay, SAN says the president action is morally and constitutionally right. He said the President is acting in line with the court of law and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which says that the president have the right to remove the CJN if found wanting.
