NGF has warned NASS over Minimum wages Passage
Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Yari, has cautioned the National Assembly against passing another National Minimum Wage that would be troublesome for states to pay.
Yari, who is the Chairman, Nigerian Governors’ Forum, issued the notice in a meeting with writers on the sidelines of people in general hearing on new National Minimum Wage bill on Monday in Abuja.
Responding to the interest of sorted out work, Yari said that the interest for N30,000 as the new the lowest pay permitted by law was not practical.
As indicated by him, just Lagos State can bear the cost of N30,000 as the lowest pay permitted by law.
He said that pioneers must disclose to themselves reality and not pass assumes that would be hard to execute in the field.
“It is anything but difficult to call figures, however with regards to executing in the field, it turns into an issue.
“No one but Lagos can bear the cost of the N30,000 as the lowest pay permitted by law, not even Rivers can stand to pay that much,” he said.
